It is the Christmas Season, so that means a fight of the Battle of Trenton. It shows the caliber of the group when, you are refighting Trenton, the Hessians are not going to win this, We have a gathering of 16 gamers to play! Right away we get volunteers to be the Hessians, and this time to give them a fighting chance they are awake and sort of ready. The American’s are having none of it and after a couple of hours the Hessians that are not rounded up are in full flight. Huge good game, run and played by great gamers! Such a good time.
It would be another Brent spectacular event on Monday Military Miniature Madness! He painted, based and labeled all the troops used and there was plenty of them. Enough for 15 substantial commands!
It is New Mexico and the Confederates have advanced north for a shot at Colorado gold mines and California ports. The battle included not more than 3000 Union and 25oo Confederate troops, so the unit sizes were companies. Field of Honor rules were used and the scale was 15mm.
The Battle started with a small Union force holding the River Fords and strong Confederate forces advancing along the whole front. The fly in the buttermilk here is that the river (Rio Grande), is unfordable all along the line but for two small fords on the far Confederate right flank. It was a mini Fredericksburg. We had sharp battles of charging cav, columns of Infantry and massed 12lbers! Quite a fight!
