The Crossing at Studienka – Slaughterloo Style!

We had a fiercely fought battle this Monday night as we refought the battle of Studienka.  This is where the French fight a rear guard action to get as much of their army back across the river to safety, supplies and reinforcements, after a disastrous invasion of Mother Russia.  The first four turns saw determined attacks on the French rear guard by Cossacks, jagers, and light cavalry.  These were beaten back by a determined French defense, but on turn 5 the heavy regiments of the Russian Army attack and the fight collapse’s into desperate battles of small groups.  While most of the French army got across the river, the rear guard suffered much to make it so.  For those not knowing about Slaughterloo,  it is campaign setting where each of the Napoleonic nations are represented by fantasy races.  French are Elves,  British are Orcs, Russians are Skeletons and Werewolves, Austrians are Dogs,  Spanish are Dark Elves and the Prussians are Dwarves.  Wilderness Wars rules were used.  All figures were 28mm.  A huge thanks goes out to Andy, Todd and Ray for all the good figures and help!
