Source Comics and Games: home of the best fun ever!

We’re proud to have been named the Best Games Store this year in the City Pages 2008 and 2009  Best of the Twin Cities issue.


Also, in 2002, we received the Eisner Spirit of Retailing Award—which is presented once a year at the San Diego Comic-Con. They say it’s to “honor the best comic shops in the world” and we try to live up to that daily.

The Soldier
In the beginning, there was Legacy Games. The soldier is the logo of the old Legacy Games store. When Jerry and I got the new Source going, we kept the soldier as our logo.

He showed up one day, when this fellow comes into the store and says, “Hey you want a solder guy?” I saw this huge, gray toy soldier in the back of a beatup pickup, and the big guy joined the Source staff. He was painted by Bob “RoadKill” and has been an icon ever since. Great asset: he never gets tired, is always standing, and never makes a complaint!

Jerry

The main man: our great leader. Jerry handles all of the fun stuff: lawyers, taxes, and insurance… Bravest man I know! You may have seen Jerry around for some of our events. He is in charge of all the most important details—handing out free pop, talking to all of the great fans, and wondering how we got all this stuff in the store!

Jerry is the old guy, the young man with a green mohawk is my oldest son Jared.  I make him work conventions and special events

Bob

Partner and general manager. Known as Barbwire Bob, loves military miniatures, RPGs, ‘hardcore” military boardgames, and all of the good comics! Happiest behind the cash register, but the rest of the staff will do their best to get the “random chaos factor” away from all those buttons!

Hans

“I lift heavy things”!!! So what does a misplaced German barbarian do at the Source?? Swords, knives, light sabers, and chess!! He knows comics, games and toys… And he will get it done for you!

Chad

Chad is the go-to guy for anime, manga, books, games, CCGs, RPGs… Ah, basically everything… His heart is as big as he is… Plays most everything in the store and can show you how to play it, too!

Burl
Never saw a game he would not play, never played a game he did not like… Knows more about RPGs and board games than anybody… I am not kidding, try to best him! Don’t let his nice cheerful manner fool you, though. He is a merciless player… Can DM 173 people at the same time!!

Patrick
Ok, it’s true, Patrick is my youngest son and that’s how he got the job. That is not how he has kept his job!!! (The monotone welcome is gone!) This big guy is a GW and miniature guru! If you need a GW figure… 1 week later… you have your figure!

John N
Happiest guy in the comic and game business. He knows where Hafa is buried. And he knows where the secret room in the Dallas airport is! He is our strongman behind the cash register and our official Source Cryer!!!
































Tim
My longest running employee. Tim has been with me since the beginning: 15 years ago. He takes care of all our back issues and that is a HUGE job!!

Mark
EL-Marko is in front and in charge, he will get your spec order and all questions answered,  You will also see him at our other store, Uncle Svens. Hard working, he has a great joy when helping customers!

Mr. Movie Boy is on the registers or doing an overnight getting those dang comics up! Knows movies, comics, and banjo!!!

Paul
My other “I lift heavy things” guy. You will find poor Paul sweating in our warehouse and loading pallets for our 4 national shows we do. Great guy, good cheer…. He and John N could have a “who is going to stop talking first” contest.

Shawn
Well, you see he is a space alien who has lost his powers… And he has been sentenced to work at the Source until he can find and use them again! Honest! Great game and RPG knowledge!!

Colonel Dave

The main force at Uncle Svens. We’ve had the privilege and fun of owning Uncle Svens and we got the Colonel in the deal!!! Great comic mind, but deep down this is a military miniature guy!!!
